A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION ON
A REVISED CHARTER.
WHEREAS, on Larch 1, 1965, the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach appointed a Charter Revision
Committee composed of fifteen Citizens from all parts of the
City to study and make recommendations for revising the City
Charter of Huntington Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Charter Revision Committee has been
meeting regularly two or more times a month since their
appointment, in their endeavors to comply with the requests
of the City Council in the preparation of a revised City
Charter for the City of Huntington Beach, and
WHEREAS, the Charter Revision Committee is approaching
a completion date in such preparation;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that immediately after
the Charter Revision Committee submits its proposed draft of
the revised Charter, hearings will be held for comments of
City employees, department heads and City officials. There-
after, public hearings will be held for the comments of the
citizens of Huntington Beach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Charter Revision
Committee shall then consider the suggestions that have been

made and shall develop and submit a final revision of the
Huntington Beach City Charter. After submission of the
final revision of the Charter to the City Council for its
consideration and determination, then the City Council
shall, within 60 days, call a Special Election and submit
the revised Charter to the people for their approval or
rejection.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, this 6th day of July, 1965 .

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and
ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 0h day of
July 1965, by the following vote:
