A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE
25th DAY OF JANUARY , 1966, PERTAINING TO
THE BOLSA CHICA No. 5 ANNEXATION TO THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2246 , the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach declared its intention to call
a Special Election in certain inhabited territory contiguous
to said city proposed to be annexed to said city, for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in
said territory the question whether or not said territory
shall be annexed to said city; and
WHEREAS, a copy of said resolution was published as
required by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that at the time not
later than the hour set by said Resolution for hearing object-
ions to the proposed election, and not later than the time
to which said hearing was continued, neither written or oral
protests to said election were made by the owners of one-half
of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed, as
shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor were written
and oral protests made by public and private owners equal
to one-half of the value of the territory; and
WHEREAS, all proceedings have been made in accordance
with said resolution and the Annexation Act of 1913, refer-
ence thereto hereby being made for further particulars:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach:
Section 1. A special election hereby is called to .
be. held on the 25tn day of January , 1966 , in the terri-
tory hereinafter described and proposed to be annexed to the
City of Huntington Beach, for the purpose of submitting to
the qualified electors residing in said territory, the ques-
tion whether or not such territory shall be annexed to, incor-
porated in, and made a part of said City of Huntington Beach,
and whether or not the property in said territory shall, after
such annexation, be subject to taxation, equally with the
property within the City of Huntington Beach, to pay the entire
bonded indebtedness of the City of Huntington Beach outstand-
ing or authorized at the date of the filing of the petition
for annexation for the acquisition, construction or completion
of municipal improvements.
Beginning at the intersection of the south right of way
line of Heil Avenue, 60. 00 feet in width as now laid out,
with the west right of way line of Bolsa Chica Street, 90.00
feet in width as now laid out; said point also being the in-
tersection of the south line of the north 20.00 feet of the
southeast one-quarter (SE1.) of Section 209 Township 5 South,
Range 11 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, Orange
County, California, with the west line of the east 30.00
feet of said southeast one-quarter (SE,) ; said point also
being an angle point in the boundary line of the City of
Huntington Beach, as established by "North Annexation", cer-
tified by the Secretary of State of the State of California
on August 2, 1957, also as established by "West Annexation
No. 2", certified by the Secretary of State of the State of
California on April 6, 1960, and also as established by
"Bolsa Chica No, 2 Annexation", certified by the Secretary
of State of the State of California on July 25, 1963; said
point also being the True Point of Beginning; thence south

line of Bolsa Chica Street and along the existing boundary
line of the City of Huntington Beach, as established by be-
fore mentioned "West Annexation No.211, to an angle point
in the boundary line of the City of Huntington Beach as estab-
lished by before mentioned "West Annexation No.2"9 said point

lying in the existing boundary line of the City of Huntington
Beach as established by "Bolsa Chica No. 4 Annexation", certi-
fied by the Secretary of State of the State of California on
April 6, 1964, said point also lying in the north line of Block
16 Tract No. 36 as shown on a map recorded in Book 10 Paves 35
and 36 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California;
thence south 890 39' 3011 west 630.06 feet, aloe; the existing
boundary line of the City of Huntington Beach as established by
before mentioned ""Balsa Chica No. 4 Huntington
and along the
north line of said Block 16 of Tract No. 36, to the northwest
corner of said Block 16 of Tract No. 86, said point being an
angle point in the e-N.istin- boundary line of the City of Hunt-
in-,-toa Beach as established by before mentioned "Bolsa Chica
No 4 Annexation"" ; thence south 00 40' 00" east 1320.66 feet,
along the west line of said Bloch- 16 of Tract "Llzo . 86 and alone
the existing boundary line of the City of Huntington Beach as
established by before mentioned "Bolsa Chica No. 4 Annee:ation",
to a point on the centerline of Darner Avenue, 60.00 feet in width
as now laid out ; thence south 00 44' 15" cast 30.00 feet.along,
the existing boundary line of the City of Huntington Beach as

to a point in the south right of way line of IVIarner Avenue,
said point being the northwest corner of Block 20 of said Tract
No 36, said point in the boundary line of the City of Huntington
Beach, also having been established by ""Balsa Chica Annexation"
certified by the Secretary of State of the State of California

Section 2. TIME OF OPENING AND CLOSING OF TOLLS.
The polls at said election shall be opened at 7 :00 o'clock
A.cil. of the day herein fi .ed for the holdinG of said election
and shall be kept open until 7 :00 o'clock '.M. of the same
day, when the polls shall be closed .
Section 3 . BALLOTS . Upon the ballots to be used
at said election there shall. be printed the words :

Opposite these words there shall be printed the words

"Yes" and '"A.�o" and to the right of each of these last two
�,.,ords there shall be a voting square. If an elector shall
stamp a cross (-&-) in the voting square after the printed
word "Yes" the vote of such elector shall be counted in
favor of the annexation of said territory to the City of
Huntington Beach; and if an elector shall stamp a cross
in the voting square after the printed word "No" the
vote of such elector shall be counted against such annexa-
tion.
In all particulars not herein recited said election
shall be held in conformity; as near as may be, with the laws
of the State of California concerning general elections and
with said Annexation Act of 1913 .
Section 4. (a) For the purpose of said election
there is hereby established in the territory described herein
one (1) voting precinct . The following is the polling place
of said election precinct and the following named persons here-
by are named officers of election and shall constitute the
boards of election for such election precincts .

Section 5 . The City Clerk shall publish a notice
of special election as required by said Annexation Act of
1913, at least once a week for the four (4) weeks prior to
the date of the election on January 25, 1966, in the Hunting-
ton Beach Independent, a newspaper of general circulation
printed and published outside of the City of Huntington Beach
but in the County of Orange, California .
Section 6 . The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and cause the same to be pub-
lished once in the Huntington Beach News ,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, at a regular adjourned meet-
ing thereof held on the 26th day of November 1965 .
