HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2288 RESOLUTION NO. 2288 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF ADAMS AVENUE. WHEREAS' the City of Huntington Beach desires to improve Adams Avenue from 1320 feet west of Cannery Street to 280 feet east of Beach Boulevard, and WHEREAS, Adams Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest, and WHEREAS,, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County budget .of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1966-67 a sum of money for theimprovement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $37,000.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the.improvement of Adams Avenue from 1320 ,feet west of Cannery Street to 280 feet east of Beach Boulevard; said improve- ments to be in accordance with the attached project statement; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County I Res. No . 2288 of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work on Adams Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that,, by this Resolution, the City of Huntington Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements will be available for the fiscal year 1966-67.
