HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2292 RESOLUTION No. 2292 A RESOLUTION OF' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTTINGTON BEACH ADOPTING AN AMEND- MENT TO THE MASTER PLAN OF ARTERIAL STREETS AND HIGHWAYS ' AS' IT RELATES TO THE AREA BOUNDED BY THE CURRENTLY PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE MASTER PLAN OF LAND USE .- STUDY ABU V WITH CERTAIN CHANGES. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City heretofore adopted a Master Plan for Streets and Highways; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Hunt- ington Beach, California, has held one public hearing in eom- pliance with the State Government Code in order to consider and review Zone Case No. 541-B; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, on the basis of eaist- Ing and anticipated land use and traffic conditions has deter- mined that the present faster Plan of Arterial Streets and Highways which was amended by the City Council on June 6,1960, November 4, 1963 and again on May 41, 1964, will not be suffic- ient to provide for adequate traffic circulation that will be generated within and adjacent to the city in the near future; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended the adoption of an amendment to the Master Plan of Arterial Streets and Highways, with certain changes. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Hunt- '. 1, Res. No. 2292 ington Beach, as a result of study and consideration, hereby adopts the said amendment to the Master Plan of Arterial Streets and Highways, with the following changes.- 1. Delete connection between Mansion Avenue and 17th Street. 2. Delete Adams Avenue between 17th Street and 23rd Street, 3., Add Orange Avenue as a Secondary Highway between Lake Street and the Palm Avenue extension. 4. Add a primary Highway between Palm Avenue and High- way #1, 1/2 mile northerly of 23rd Street. 5. Add Clay Avenue as a Secondary Highway between Gold.. enwest Street and Main Street, 6. Carry Palm Avenue as a Secondary Highway between Bolsa Chica Street and 38th Street. ?. Carry Yorktown Avenue as a Secondary Highway straight through to Maim Street. 8. Change 38th Street to a Primary Highway between Garfield Avenue and Highway #1. 9. Change Garfield Avenue to a Major Highway between Gold.. enwest Street and Bolsa Chita Street, 10. Change Mansior. Avenue to a Primary Highway between. Main Street and Goldenwest Street 11. Change 23rd Street and Goldenwest Street to a Major Highway between Highway #1 and Garfield Avenue 12. Turn Ellis Avenue nor-IL:,'zwest to intersect with Spring- dale Street as a Secondary Highway, 13. Show Graham Street, Springdale Street, Pals Avenue, Talbert Avenue, Garfield Avenue extending into the Bolsa Chita Bay Area. 14. Add the Coast Freeway and Huntington Beach Freeway with the alignment previously approved by the City. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of 2. Res.
