A RESOLUTION OF THE CITYY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING
THE CITY CLERK TO CAWASS BALLOTS ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Huntington
Beach provides in Article 17, Section, as follows:
"At all elections the returns from each
election precinct shall be filed with
the City Clerk and shall be canvassed
by the City Council at the regular meet-
ing of such Council on the first Monday
after the expiration of five (5) full
days after said election.'' . . . ."
and,
WHEREAS, the City Clerk is duly qualified to act
on behalf of the City Council in canvassing votes;,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach hereby authorizes the City
Clerk to canvass the votes on its behalf and submit the re-
sults for certification.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be
effective for all future city elections unless changed by
resolution, ordinance or charter.
PASSED AND ALOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, this 3rd day of

acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of January
