HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2343 RESOLUTION No. 2343 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIMNIA, -MENDING RESOLUTION No. 2328 OF SAID CITY COUNCIL, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECT- ION TO bE HELD T SAID CITY ON 'TUESDAY, THE 12th DAY OF APRIL, 19669 FOR THE ELECTION OF MaTAIN OFFICERS OF MIS CITY, AS MQUI iED BY THE MOVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE Of CALIFORNIA, AND AS RE- QUIRED BY THE: MOVISIONS Or THE CHARTER OF SAID CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH. WHEREAS, on February 21, 19669 the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach duly passed and adopted Resolu- tion No. 2328 as required under the provisions of the laws set forth in the Charter of the City of Huntington Beach, and of the State of Caliornia, calling a regular general munici- pal election to be held on the 12th day of April, 1966, for the election of four (4) members of the City Council of said city for a full term of four (4) years and a City Attorney of said city for the full term of four (4) years; and. WHEREAS, registrations in consolidated city precinct No. 30, as submitted by the Registrar of Voters of the County of Orange, show an increase, since the establishment of said consolidated precinct by the City Clerk, acting as Elections Officer for the City of Huntington Beach, in the amount of 488 registered voters; and. WHE3EAS9 the number of registered voters found to be living in the boundaries of consolidated city precinct io.30 are deemed by said City Clerk as being too many to constitute a workable precinct, and he has elected to divide said consol- 1. No. 2343 idated precincts 30-A axed 30-b with the polling places to be in the same location as that which had been established In ccnsolidated city precinct No. 30. hOW, THEHEFOHE, THE CITY CO SCIL OF THE CITY OF H NTI VuTON UACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEaEBY HESOLVE, aSCLAAE, DETERMINE AND CHDEP AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That for the purpose of holding said reg- ular general municipal election, there shall be and are here- by established forty nine (49) voting precincts cousisting of the coRsolidation of the regular election precincts in the City of Huntington Beach, established for the holding of said City Election, as said regular election precincts existed on the date of the adoption of hesolution No. 2328. That the polling places for the respective precincts, as set forth in Resolution No. 2328, shall remain the same, and that the persons named in said Resolution No. 2328 as election workers shall remain the same except for city voting precinct No. 30, which is to be divided into Voting Precincts 30-A and 30-B. Section 2. That the Board and polling place to be used in Precinct No. 30-A, comprising regular precinct No. 2029 shall be as follows : Polling Place: Springview School, 16662 Trudy Lane Inspector: Mrs. Estelle M. Walters Judge Firs. Helene E. Hutton Clerk: Tars. Irene F. Taylor Clerk: Mrs. Venite J. Halastick 2. ices. ,do. 2343 'h-at the Buard, and polling place used in voting preeip ct No. 30-B, co .prising regular election precinct No. 308, shall be as follows: Polling Place: Springview School, 16662 Trudy Lane. Inspector: Mrs. Flora A. Smith Judge Mrs. Carol Lee Anderson Clerk: Yirs. Darleen J. Kuhlman Clerk Mrs. T:arilyn G. Wilson :section 3. That all other sections and provisions set forth in resolution No. 3238 are continued in effect at the time of said general municipal election. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the pass- age and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach Dews, a weekly newspaper, printed., published and circulated in the City of Huntington. Beach, California, and thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof, the same shall take effect and. be in force.
