HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2397 RESOLUTION No, 2597 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH COVERING PRO- CEDURES, RULES AND RATES PERTAINING TO AMBULANCE SERVICE WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AND SUPERSEDING RESOLU- TION No. 2253 DATED NOVEMBER 1st, 1965. WHEREAS, there is a need and necessity for emergency ambulance service within the City of Huntington Beach; and WHEREAS, due to the welfare, health and safety of the general public; NOW, THEREFORE, 'THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH HEREBY RESOLVES that the following rules, regulations and rates will govern any ambulance service li- censed to do business within the City of Huntington Beach; Section 1. Anyone doing business as an ambulance service within the City of Huntington Beach must meet the need and necessity requirements as set out in the Hunting- Beach Ordinance Code. Section 2. Ambulance services will be governed by the following administrative rules : (a) The equipment will be checked and approved by the Chief of Police. (b) The procedures for using this equipment must meet the approval of the Chief of Police. Re-is - No. 2397 (c) Ambulance services will adhere to the following rates : BASIC CHARGE: Per Stretcher Patient �25-00 Plus �1�1.00 per mile or fraction thereof from point of pickup to final destination. Per Sit-Up Patient 1/2 of complete stretcher charge NOTE: In case one Sit-Up Patient only is transported patient must pay the full stretcher charge. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: Emergency Calls 5.00 per patient Night Charge (7 :00 P.m. to 7 :00 a.m. ) 5.00 per patient Oxygen rendered enroute 5.00 minimum Resuscitator 10.00 minimum Alcoholic 5,00 minimum Splint 2.75 minimum Stand By Time 5. 00 per each 15 min. or fraction thereof Traveling off paved roads 5.00 minimum Meeting trains, boats and airplanes 5. 00 minimum Ambulance refused or not needed upon arrival $25-00 (In response to veterans, calls, adhere to the approved rates of the Veterans Administration) . (In response to County calls, adhere to the approved rates of the County of Orange) . Sec. 3. At the time of collection or billing ambu- lance companies or ambulance businesses concerned shall pre- sent to the customer a complete itemized list of all charges together with a schedule of fees printed thereon. See. 4. The Chief of Police, through the City Ad- ministrator, will administer the rules. Sec. 5. This Ordinance shall supersede Ordinance No. 2253 adopted on November ist, 1965. 2. Res.
