HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2481 RESOLUTION NO. 2481 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF MAGNOLIA STREET. WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to improve Magnolia Street from 4501 S/o Banning Avenue to 1300f S/o Banning Avenue and WHEREAS, Magnolia Street is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest, and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizeds a County, if it so de- sires , to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to , by appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improve- ment Fund for the Fiscal Year 67-68 a sum of money for the improve- ment of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $52,000.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Magnolia Street from 4501 S/o Banning Avenue to 13001 S/o Banning Avenue, and for the acquisition of necessary rights of way; said acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project statement; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said acquisi- tion of rights of way on Magnolia ,Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of h the basic concepts Huntington Beach agrees with is of the Arterial p Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1967-68. -1_ Res.
