A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH CONGRATULATING
THE PLAYERS, COACHING STAFF, AND RECREAT-
ION DEPARTMENT ON WINNING THE SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA MUNICIPAL ATHLETIC FEDERATION
FLAG FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
WHEREAS, the Recreation and Parks Department has es-
tablished a program of flag football for the grade school
children in Huntington Beach; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Jim Way volunteered his time to coach the
5th and 6th grade team known as the Huntington High Bears;
and.
WHEREAS, Mr. Bon Campbell volunteered his time to
coach the 7th and 8th grade team known as the Meadow View
Rams; and
WHEREAS, both teams amassed highly impressive records
in ginning their respective class championship In the South-
ern California municipal Athletic Federation flag football
championship; and
WHEREAS, in so doing, the coaches and players demon-
strated high standards in sportsmanship, ability, teamwork
and leadership,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
Huntington Beach congratulates the Recreation and Parks De-
partment on the program of flag football; the coaches, Jim
Way and Don Campbell,upon their instilling the fine qualities

of sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership Into their re-
spective teams; and to the young boys who, through their
hard, clean, sportsmanlike conduct, have successfully
achieved the Championship of the Southern California Munici-
pal Athletic Federation Flag Football.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting held this 3rd day of
January, 1967.

I , PAUL Cm JONES , the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of- , January ,
