RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH SUPPORTING THE ORANGE
COAST JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT TAX LIMIT
PROPOSITION TO BE VOTED UPON ON FEBRUARY
loth, 1967.
WHEREAS, the welfare of our community is best served
by quality education demonstrated by the Orange Coast Junior
College District; and
WHEREAS, The Orange Coast Junior College District is
responsible to provide our youth with the best education
available; and
WHEREAS, the Orange Coast Junior College is in the
district with the largest population Increase in the nation;
and
WHEREAS, the orange Coast Junior College District has
reached the limits of its general power tax rates due to
rising costs and the exploding student population; and
WHEREAS, the present tax: monies are insufficient to
continua the high quality educational standards heretofore
adhered to,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
Of Huntington Beach support the Orange Coast Junior College
District Tax Limit Proposition to be voted upon on February

I , PAUL Ca JONES , the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 16th day of January ,
1967 , by the following vote :
