ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 6403
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
A RESOLUTION OF THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH. DETERMINING GENERA NATURE OF -.
WORK, AND ORDERING REPORT .OF CITY ENGINEER
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, in regular session assembled, that
certain improvements are proposed to be done and made within the
boundaries of the proposed assessment district hereinafter described
within said City of Huntington Beach. In connection therewith,
said City Council hereby finds and determines as follows , to wit:
1. The nature of the proposed improvement, consisting
of the following described work, upon the grades , along the lines ,
between the points , of the dimensions , at the places , in the manner,
and of the materials shown on the plans , profiles and detailed
drawings for said improvement , and in accordance with the specifica-
tions for said improvement heretofore approved and adopted by said
City Council and on file in the office of the Director of Public Works ,
to which plans , profiles , detailed drawings and specifications refer-
ence is hereby made for further and more particular description of
said work, the manner of its execution and the material to be used
therein, is described as follows:

The construction and installation of concrete curb and
gutter , concrete driveways , asphalt concrete pavement over aggregate
base material, the removal of existing pavement , asphalt, concrete
and gravel driveways , concrete sidewalk, concrete curb, fences ,
and trees and all other obstacles in the line of work and within
the public right of way, the relocation of existing mail boxes and
traffic control signs , together with appurtenances and appurtenant
work, in Newman Avenue from a point therein 133 feet West of its
intersection with the construction center line of Beach Boulevard
to a point in Newman Avenue 1284 feet West of said construction
center line; but , excepting therefrom any of said work in the
Northerly one-half of Newman Avenue from a point therein 133 feet
West of its intersection with said construction center line of
Beach Boulevard to a point in Newman Avenue 228 feet West of said
construction center line; together with the construction and
installation of on site driveways at premises numbers 7851, 7861,
7862, 7872 , and 7881 Newman Avenue , all private property, to eliminate
any disparity in level between said public improvement and said drive-
ways . Said City Council hereby finds and determines that a disparity
in level between said public improvement and said real property will
result from said work, that it is in the public interest and more
economical to do such work on said private property than to adjust
said public improvement to eliminate such disparity, that the owners
of said real property have consented to such work in said real property,
and that said City Council will order said work in said real property
after acquiring jurisdiction to order said public improvement .
2 . The location and extent of said proposed improvement
will involve the construction of the above described improvement
upon the streets and rights of way as hereinbefore set forth.
3 . The boundaries of the district to be specially
assessed to pay any part of the cost of the proposed improvements
are as shown upon a map or plat on file in the office of the City
Clerk, which said map or plat indicates by a boundary line the
territory to be included in the proposed assessment district , and
which said map or plat governs for all details as to the extent of
said proposed district; said map or plat is designated 11MAP OF
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 6403, CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA,."

4. The statute or law under which it is proposed to
conduct proceedings for said improvement is the Improvement Act
of 1911 of the State of California , Division 7 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California , with improvement bonds
to be issued pursuant to the provisions of said Improvement tact
of 1911 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer be, and he
hereby is directed to prepare a written report containing all of
the information required by Section 2825 Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California upon the proposed improvement. Said
City Engineer is hereby authorized to employ such clerical assistance
as shall be necessary in compiling the information required in said
report .

of members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is
seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
affirmative vote of more than a majority of all the members of said
City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 20th day of
March, 1967 , by the following vote:
