HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2534 RESOLUTION No. 2534 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH URGING GOVERNOR RONALD REAGAN TO APPOINT MR.R.A.DAILY TO THE SANTA ANA RIVER BASIN REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD WHEREAS, Mr. Marvin Gade has tendered his resignation to Governor Heagan as the industrial representativeon the Santa Ana River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Boards due to his transfer by the Kimberly-Clark Corporation to a new project in South Carolina ; and WHEREAS, Orange County is located in the lower and coastal portion of the Santa Ana River watershed; and WHEREAS, it is of vital economic importance that the water which comes to Orange County from the upper portion of the watershed be maintained at a usable quality; and WHEREAS, it is most important that the industrial rep- resentative on the Santa Ana River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Board be experienced in the handling of waste discharges for disposal; and WHEREAS, Mr. R. A. Daily, Plant Manager of General Motors' Delco-Remy Battery Manufacturing Plant In Anaheim, California, has been personally involved In the water treat- ment and water reclamation activity of Delco-Remy In their Anaheim and other plants and is technically competent in this field, NOW9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City Of Huntington Beach does hereby request and urge Governor Ronald Reagan to appoint Mr. R. A. Daily to the Santa Ana River Basin Regional Water Quality Control Board.
