A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING
THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF HOURLY
WAGES FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN
OR MECHANIC NEEDED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A WATER MAIN AND APPURTENANCES WITHIN
WARNER AVENUE FROM THE NORTHEASTERLY
RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF PACIFIC COAST HIGH-
WAY TO THE BOLSA CHICA STATE PARK, PARTI-
ALLY WITHIN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE AND
PARTIALLY WITH THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
has conducted a hearing for the purpose of establishing the
general prevailing rate of hourly wages in this locality for
workmen needed in the construction of a Water Main and appurt-
enances within Warner Avenue from the northeasterly right of
way line of Pacific Coast Highway to the Bolsa Chica State
Park, partially within the County of Orange and partially
within the City of Huntington Beach, California, and has con-
sidered evidence presented.`
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach does hereby find, establish and
determine that the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in
this locality for workmen needed in the construction of a Water
Main and appurtenances within Warner Avenue from the northeast-
erly right of way line of Pacific Coast Highway to the Bolsa
Chica State Park, partially within the County of Orange and
partially within the City of Huntington Beach, California, and
the general prevailing rate of legal holiday and overtime work,
is as follows:

OVERTIME RATES
CaRPENTERS - Double time for all overtime,
CEMENT MASONS - Time and one-half for the first three hours
after the regularly constituted straight time shift, and all
other overtime shall be double time.

OPERATING ENGINEERS —First three hours outside the regularly
constituted shift shall be at the rate of time and one-half.'
All additional hours shall be at double time. On Saturday work,
the first eleven hours shall be at time and one-half and all
additional hours at double time,! Sundays shall be double time.'
LABORERS - Time and one-half, except Sundays and holidays,
which are double time.''
TEAMSTERS - Time and one-half, except Sundays and holidays,
which are double time. "The rate of compensation for any
classification not listed in the schedub, but which may be
required to execute the proposed contract, shall be commensurate
and in accord with the rates specified for similar or comparable
duties in the Souther Califorria Master Labor Agreement.'"
The rates per hour, indicated above are based upon the
local prevailing rates per day being eight times the above
scheduled rate per hour.' Hourly rates of pay are based upon -
eight hours per day for a full day or a fractional part of a
day.1 The per diem wages of a fractional part of a day shall
be the applicable rate per hour multiplied by the number of
hours worked on said day other than for overtime and/or
Sundays or Legal Holidays,''
All work performed in excess of eight (8) hours per day
or forty (40) hours per week shall be paid for at the pre-
vailing overtime rate, and all work performed on holidays
and Sundays, shall be paid for at the prevailing overtime
rate, for each craft involved.'
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California at a regular adjourned meeting
thereof held on the 3rd day of July, 1967.

resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd
day of July , 1967 , by the following vote:
