A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH OPPOSING AB 902 RELATING
TO STATE CO-"<TROL OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT FOR
LAW OFFICERS
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach is desirous of
achieving the highest level of law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach finds that law
enforcement problems and the type of equipment desirable for
use by law enforcement personnel differs in cities and areas
throughout the state; and
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach finds that the
most efficient and economical protection can be achieved by
local control over local affairs; and
WHEREAS, AB 902 would provide for state control over
the type of equipment and clothing to be used anti-worn by
local law enforcement personnel,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Hunt-
ington Beach opposes the passage of AB 902 and the principles
upon which it is based and urges that said bill not become
the law of the State.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
Of Huntington Beach, at a regular meeting held July 17th,1967.

acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th
day of July , 19 67 , by the following vote:
