HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2666 RESOLUTION No.2666 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RELATING TO A COMPENSATION PLAN AND RULES FOR THE ADIMINISTRATION OF SAID COMPENSATION PLAN; AMENDING SECTION 7 OF RESOL- UTION No. 2628 PERTAINING TO 'MANDATORY RETIRE- MENT AGE. WHEREAS, the personnel Board of the City of Huntington Beach has recommended to the Council that the mandatory retire- ment age be modified to allow employees to work until the age of seventy (70) years upon the meeting of certain requirements; and WHEREAS, the City Council of Huntington Beach approves of the recommendation of the personnel Board, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows : That Section 7 of Resolution No. 2628 is hereby amended to read in words and figures, as follows : Section 7. Mandatory Retirement. All employees and officers and par , time employees are required to retire from ser- vice with the city upon reaching their 65th birthday, except the council may provide by resolution a method whereby a procedure would be established to allow persons to work until age 70 at which time their retirement shall become mandatory, with no ex- ceptions.
