RESOLUTION NO. 2 742
A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO VACATE A PORTION
OF CREST AVENUE IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH,
AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING ON SAID VACATION.
WHEREAS, there now exists a parcel of land, known as Circle Park,
dedicated by the Wesley Park Tract Map and a parcel of land, known as
Farquhar Plaza, dedicated to the City by a deed for park purposes; and
WHEREAS, these two park sites are separated by a portion of Crest
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, on February 5, 1968, did approve a
master plan for the redesign of the Lake Park Complex which indicated the
uniting of the two park sites mentioned above; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires
to vacate that portion of Crest Avenue hereinafter described,
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, does resolve, determine, stipulate, and declare as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does
hereby declare its intention to vacate that certain portion of Crest Avenue
described as follows:
Beginning at the center point of the Park, circular in shape, as
shown on the map of Wesley Park Section as recorded in Book 4, Page 17, of
Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; said Park situated
at the intersection of Twelfth Street and Crest Avenue; thence north 29°
23' 11" east, along a radial line passing through said center point; 105.00
feet to a point lying in the property line of said circular park, said
point being the True Point of Beginning of this description; thence north-
easterly along a tangent curve, concave to the north, a radial line passing
through said last mentioned point bears south 29° 23' 11" west, and said
curve having a radius of 75.00 feet, 102.27 feet through an angle of 78'
07' 37" to a point; thence northeasterly along a tangent curve, concave
to the south, a radial line passing through said last mentioned point bears
north 48' 44' 26" west, and said curve having a radius of 264.00 feet,
16.60 feet through an angle of 3° 35' 52" to a point, said point lying in
the southerly property line of Twelfth Street as shown on a map of Tract
Nbe 1074 as recorded in Book 34 on Page 48, of Miscellaneous Mpps, Records
of Orange County, California; thence southerly along a tangent curve,
concave to the east, a radial line passing through said last mentioned
point bears north 45' 081 34" west, and said curve having a radius of' 20.00
feet 26.75 feet (along the easterly property line of Crest Avenue as shown
on said map of Tract No. 1074) through an angle of 76° 36' 46" to a point;
thence southwesterly along a tangent curve, concave to the west, a radial
line passing through said last mentioned point bears north 58° 14' 20" east,
and said curve having a radius of 180.00 feet, 243.27 feet (along the
easterly property line of Crest Avenue as shown on said map of Tract No.
1074) through an angle of 770 261 0811 to a point; thence southerly along a

tangent curve, concave to the east, a radial line passing through said last
mentioned point bears north 44' 19' 12" west, and said curve having a radius
of 20.00 feet, 25.59 feet (along the easterly property line of Crest Avenue
hs shown on said Map of Tract No. 1074) through an angle of 730 20' 03" to
a point; thence north 27' 391 1511 west, along a line tangent to said last
mentioned curve, a distance of 15.50 feet to a point; thence northwesterly

along a tangent curve having a radius of 75.00 feet, 102.09 feet through an
angle of 770 591 34" to a 'point in the southerly property line of said
circular park; thence northerly along a tangent curve, concave to the west,
a radial line passing through said last mentioned point bears south 15'
38' 49" east, and said curve having a radius of 105.00 feet,' 247.34 feet
(along the easterly property line of said circular park) through an angle
of 1340 58' 00: to the True Point of Beginning.
Section 2. That notice is hereby given. that the 3rd day of June,
1968, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. or as soon thereafter as possible, in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, is the time
and place when and where a public hearing shall be held upon said Resolution
of Intention to vacate the above described easement, at which hearing all
persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation may be heard.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
cause a copy of this Resolution of Intention to be published in the Hunting-
ton Beach News, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published
in the City of Huntington Beach, by two insertions prior to the hearing as
set forth in Section 2 hereof.
Section 4. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach in
vacating the above easement does elect to proceed under the provisions of
the Street Vacation Act of 1941, Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and
Highway Code of the State of California.
Section 5. The Street Superintendent is hereby authorized and
directed to post the notice of the easement vacation as required by lays'.
