RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH OF INTENTION TO
VACATE A PORTION OF SEVENTEENTH STREET.
WHEREAS, the route for the Route I Freeway, commonly known as the
Coastal Freeway has been adopted; and
WHEREAS, a single freeway crossing must serve both Seventeenth
Street and Yorktown Avenue; and
WHEREAS, this section of Seventeenth Street has been deleted from
the Master Plan of Arterial Streets and Highways; and
WHEREAS, that portion of Seventeenth Street lying between Delaware
Street and Clay Avenue is not considered to be essential for the public
benefit; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach desires
to vacate that portion of Seventeenth Street hereinafter described,
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, does resolve, determine, stipulate, and declare as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does
hereby declare its intention to vacate that certain portion of Seventeenth
Street described as follows:
That portion of Seventeenth Street, 70.00 feet in width, lying
between Block 2805 A and Block 2805 B of the East Side Villa Tract as shown
on a map recorded in Book 4, Page 65 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of
Orange County, California; bounded on the west by the northerly and southerly
prolongations of the east right of way line of Delaware Street, being 80.00
feet in width, as shown on said East Side Villa Tract; and bounded on the
north by the easterly and westerly prolongations of the south right of way
line of Clay Avenue, being 60.00 feet in width, as shown on said East Side
Villa Tract.
Section 2. That notice is hereby given thet the 1S'B day of J ,
1968, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. or as soon thereafter as possible, in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, is the
time and place when and where a public hearing shall be held upon said
Resolution of Intention to vacate the above described street, at which hear-
ing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation may be
heard.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
cause a copy of this Resolution of Intention to be published in the Hunt-
ington Beach News, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published
in the City of Huntington Beach, by two insertions prior to the hearing as
set forth in Section 2 hereof.

Section 4. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach in
vacating the above easement does elect to proceed under the provisions of
the Street Vacation Act of 1941, Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and
Highway Code of the State of California.
Section 5. The Street Superintendent is hereby authorized and
directed to post the notice of the Street vacation as required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, California, this 20th day of May, 1968.

I , PAUL C. J'ONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the
