RESOLUTION NO. 2762
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH COMMEMORATING THE 100TH
ANNIVERSARY OF THE BENEVOLENT AND PROTECTIVE
ORDER OF ELKS
WHEREAS, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was
founded in 1868 and from one lodge in New York City with fifteen
members has grown to 2,100 lodges with 1,450,000 members; and
In February, 1968, the Elks celebrated a, centennial marking
its years of dedication to noble and enlightened public service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach that it does hereby commend the
Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for its first one
hundred years of devotion to public duty and its many worthwhile
acts directed toward improving conditions in our country.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of June, 1968 by the
City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular
meeting thereof.

I , PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd
day of June 1968_ by the following vote:
