A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE CALIFORNIA
HIGHWAY COMMISSION TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS IN
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH PRIOR TO THE
ADOPTION OF A FREEWAY ROUTE THROUGH SAID CITY
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach lies within the
alignment of three of the proposed freeway routes for the Coast
Freeway; and
There are large groups of residents of said city who are
affected by one or more of said routes, and said citizens desire
to be heard concerning the alignment of said freeways; and
It is the desire of the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach that said citizens be given the opportunity
to be heard by the California Highway Commission prior to the
establishment or designation of a freeway route,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby resolve that it does request the California
Highway Commission to hold a public hearing in the City of
Huntington Beach for the purpose of hearing comments and pro-
tests of persons affected by said proposed freeway routes .
The City Council further declares that it is in the best
interests of the citizens of Huntington Beach and the State of
California that the California Highway Commission hear and con-
sider the comments and protests of all citizens affected by said
freeway routes .

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd
day of June, 1968 .

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd
day of June , 19. 6g , by the following vote:
