A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH EXPRESSING ITS APPRECIATION
FOR THE LOYAL SERVICES OF SAMUEL EDWARD FERGUSON
TO SAID CITY
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach has received twenty
years of benefit from the services rendered to said city by
SAMUEL EDWARD FERGUSON, a long-time employee; and
SAMUEL EDWARD FERGUSON assisted the city unstintingly and
devotedly in various capacities, the last of which was as Assistant
Director of Building and Safety; and
SAMUEL .;EDWARD FERGUSON was active and instrumental in es-
tablishing and maintaining a high level of integrity in the
standards of law enforcement and equity in the city and in the
Department of Building and Safety; and
The City Council desires to declare and make known that it
is mindful of the contributions made by said SAMUEL EDWARD
FERGUSON for the betterment and improvement of his community,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby resolve, on behalf of the City Council, city
employees and members of the community, that it is herewith
recorded the highest respect and esteem in which SAMUEL EDWARD
FERGUSON was held in his official and unofficial capacities , and
it is herewith further recorded the most sincere appreciation of
the city for his devotion and assistance; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the utmost sympathy be ex-
tended to Mrs . Samuel E. Ferguson and other members of the
immediate family in their great loss .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of

Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd
day of June, 1968 .

1 , PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd
day of June 19 68 , by the following vote:
