RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPER-
VISORS OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO CONSOLIDATE
THE SPECIAL ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO BE HELD
NOVEMBER 5 , 1968 WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE SAME DATE
WHEREAS, this City Council has commenced proceedings for
the calling of a special election in the city to be held on
November 5 , 1968 ; and
It is desirable that said special election be consolidated
with the statewide general election to be held on the same date
and that within the city the precincts , polling places and elec-
tion officers for the two elections be the same, and that the
Board of Supervisors canvass the returns of the special elec-
tion and that said statewide general election and said special
election be held in all respects as if there were only one elec-
tion;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows :
SECTION 1 . The Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange is hereby requested to consolidate the special election
to be held in said city on November 5, 1968 , with the statewide
general election to be held on said date .
SECTION 2 . The exact form of the propositions to be voted
upon at said special election as the same shall appear on the
ballot is as follows :
PARK BOND PROPOSITION: Shall the City of
Huntington Beach incur a bonded indebtedness in the
principal amount of $6 ,000,000 for the acquisition
and construction by said city of a certain municipal
improvement , to-wit : additions to and development
of facilities of the city for community recreation,

including the acquisition andc'�velopment of ad-
ditional parks and the development of existing
parks by the landscaping and planting of grounds
and the construction of buildings and rec-
reational facilities , sewer and drainage facili-
ties and vehicle parking areas , and for any of the
foregoing the acquisition of real property, equip-
ment , furniture and other property necessary
therefor?
LIBRARY BOND PROPOSITION: Shallthe City of
Huntington Beach incur a bonded indebtedness in
the principal amount of $3,160 ,000 for the ac-
quisition and construction by said city of a cer-
tain municipal improvement , to-wit : a new public
library building, the reconstruction of existing
library buildings , _.and the planting and land-
scaping of the library grounds , including the ac-
quisition of all land, furniture , fixtures, books,
furnishings and other property necessary therefor?
That the propositions shall be designated on the ballot
by a letter printed on the left margin of the square containing
the description of the measure, as provided in Section 10231
of the Elections Code .
SECTION 3 . Said Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized
to canvass the returns of said special election, and that said
special election and said statewide election shall be held in
all respects as if there were only one election, and only one
form of ballot shall be used .
SECTION 4 . Said Board of Supervisors is hereby requested
to issue to all officers of said county charged with duties
pertaining to said statewide election instructions to take any
and all steps necessary for the holding of said consolidated
election.
SECTION 5 . That the City Clerk of said city is hereby di-
rected to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Board
of Supervisors of said county and with the County Clerk and with
the Registrar of Voters of said county at least sixty (60) days
prior to November 5 , 1968 .

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th
day of August, 1968 .
