HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2944 RESOLUTION NO. 2944 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA ACCEPTING DEDICATION FOR PUBLIC USE OF THE HEREIN DESCRIBED PARCELS OF LAND. WHEREAS, there are existing strips of land, 30 feet in width, lying within the commonly known Pearce Street, a private road, within the city limits of Huntington Beach; and WHEREAS, these strips of land were offered to public use, in the dedication certification on the map of Tract No. 349, recorded in book 15, page 17 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, California on January 2, 1923 did approve said Tract Map, but did not accept the dedication of the private roads; and WHEREAS, owners of various properties within this area of the city have petitioned the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to form l improvement districts under the 1911 Act proceedings; and WHEREAS,` provisions of the 1911 Act stipulate that work I assessable under the proceedings mustoccur within public right-of-way; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California does hereby declare its intention to consider the formation of the improvement districts, and does hereby find that acceptance of the former offer of dedication is necessary for said formations and will be a benefit to the general public; NOW THEREFORE, the City Council .of the City of Huntington Beach, California does hereby accept the below described parcels of land for public use as road purposes, and does hereby delare road purposes to be synonymous with present day deed language of public street and utility purposes- -1- Re s o lu ti onNo. 2944 DESCRIPTION OF PARCELSTO BE ACCEPTED Parcel 1. That 30 foot strip of land, (shown as private road, on a map of Tract No. 349 recorded in Book 15, page 17 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California); said strip of land lying southerly of and adjoining the south line of Blocks A, B, C, and D and their easterly and westerly prolongations, lying between a line parallel with and lying 20 feet westerly of the west line of Block A, and a line parallel with and lying 25 feet easterly of the east line of Block D. Parcel 2. That 30 foot strip of land, (shown as private road, on a map of Tract No. 349 recorded in Book 15, page 17 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California); said strip of land lying northerly of'-and adjoining the north line of Block E and its easterly and westerly prolonga- tions, lying between a line parallel with and lying 25 feet westerly of the west line of Block E, and a line parallel with and lying 25 feet easterly of the east line of Block E. p Parcel 3. That 3 foot strip of land, (shown as private road, on a map of Tract No. 349 recorded in Book 15, page 17 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California); said strip of land lying northerly of and adjoining the north line of Blocks F and G and their easterly and westerly prolongations, lying between a line parallel with and lying 25 feet westerly of the west line of Block F, and a line parallel with and lying 25 feet easterly of the east line of Block G. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of and adoption of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and circula- ted in the City of Huntington Beach, California, and thirty (30) days after the adoption thereof, the same shall take effect and be in force. -2- Resolution No. 12944 PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California at a regular adjouned meeting thereof held on the 17th day of March , 1969. ti Mayor ATTEST: �t u.
