A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH SUSPENDING THE ISSUANCE
OF BUILDING, PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, SIGN AND
OTHER PERMITS AND INSTRUCTING THE PLANNING
COMMISSION TO DEFER ALL CONSIDERATION OF ANY
PROPOSED PROJECTS IN THE CENTRAL CITY PARK
AREA AUTHORIZED TO BE CONDEMNED FOR PUBLIC
PURPOSES BY THE CITY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach contemplates the
acquisition of certain real property within the city for the
purpose of constructing a library and developing a park site
for uses incidental thereto; and
The city has determined that public need and necessity
require the immediate acquisition of certain property within
the central city park area for said park purposes ,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby resolve as follows:
1. That the City Council has , by resolution, authorized
the purchase by condemnation or otherwise, of that certain
property described as :
The east ten acres of the west thirty acres
of the southwest quarter of the southwest
quarter of Section 26, Township 5 South,
Range 11 West, San Bernardino Base and
Meridian, partly in the Rancho Las Bolsas
and partly in the Rancho Los Bolsas Chica,
in the City of Huntington Beach, as shown
on a map recorded in Book 51, Page 13,
Miscellaneous Maps , Records of Orange County,
California.
and,
2 . That the health, safety and welfare of the public re-
quires and it is in the best interest of the City of Huntington
Beach that the issuance of building, plumbing, electrical, sign

and other permits in said area be suspended, and that the
Planning Commission and subordinate bodies take no action on
any proposed development or rezoning of said property except
for park use, and the Council does hereby order that no such
permit shall be issued and no rezoning or development plans
shall be considered by the Planning Commission or subordinate
bodies for a period of one year from and after the adoption of
this resolution, or unless sooner notified so to do by the City
Council .
3 . Nothing in this resolution shall be construed to pro-
hibit the doing of any act which is necessary to preserve said
property in substantially the same condition it is in on the
date of adoption of this resolution.
4 . Nothing herein shall be construed as a limitation on
the city, county, state, federal government or any other public
agency to enforce any code, statute or ordinance applicable to
said ro ert .

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th
day of April 1969 .

I , PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th
day of April 13 69 , by the following voter
