HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3000 RESOLUTION NO. 3000 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING THE GENERAL PREVAILING HOURLY WAGES FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN OR MECHANIC NEEDED FOR THE FURNISHING AND ERECTION OF CONCRETE STREET LIGHTING STANDARDS ON 12th STREET BETWEEN OCEAN AVENUE AND ORANGE AVENUE AND ON 15th STREET BETWEEN OCEAN AVENUE AND PALM AVENUE, ,,AND THE INSTALLATION OF LAMPS AND HEADS ON MAIN STREET BETWEEN 5th STREET AND llth STREET IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach has conducted a hearing for the purpose of establishing the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in the locality for workmen needed in the furnishing and execution of concrete street lighting standards on 121b Street between Ocean Avenue and Orange Avenue and on 15th Street between Ocean Avenue and Palm Avenue and the installation of lamps and heads on Main Street between 5th Street and llth Street in the city of Huntington Beach, California. CEMENT MASONS - Time and one-half for the first three hours after the regularly � y constituted straight time shift, and all other overtime shall be double time. OPERATING ENGINEERS - First three hours outside the regularly constituted shift shall be at the rate of time and one-half. All additional hours shall be at double time. On Saturday work, the first eleven hours sh&ll be at time and one-half and all additional hours at double time. Sundays shall be double time. IRON WORKERS - Double time shall be paid for any and all work in excess of eight hours on any regular work day and for all time worked on Saturdays, Sundays and recognized holidays. LABORERS - Time and one-half, except Sundays and holidays, which are double time. TEAMSTERS - Time and one-half, except Sundays and holidays, which are double time. "T he rate of compensation for any classification not listed in the schedule, but which may be required to execute the proposed contract, shall be commensurate and in accord with the iates specified for similar to compar- able duties in the Southern California Master Labor Agreements." The rates per hour, indicated above are based upon the local prevailing rates per day being eight times the above schedule rate per hour. Hourly rates of pay are based upon eight hours per day for a full day or a fractional part of a day. The per diem wages of a fractional part of a day sahll be the applicable rate per hour multiplied by the number of hours worked on said day other than for overtime and/or Sundays or legal holidays.
