HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3004 RESOLUTION NO. 3004 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF HOURLY WAGES FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN OR MECHANIC NEEDED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND STREET LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS ON BROOKHURST AT ATLANTA AND GOLDEN WEST AT HEIL, ALL IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach as conducted a hearing for the purpose of establishing the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in this locality for workmen needed in the construction of traffic signal and street lighting improvements on Brookhurst at Atlanta and Golden West at Heil, all in the City of Huntington Beach, California and has considered evidence presented. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: The the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby find, establish and determine that the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in this locality for workmen needed in the construction of traffic Signal and street lighting improvements on Brookhurst at Atlanta and Golden West at Heil, all in the City of Huntington Beach, California, and the general prevailing rate of legal holiday and overtime work is as follows: TRADE OR OCCUPATION HOURLY WAGE RATE CARPENTERS Health & Welfare -36 G per hour Pension Plan - 45G per hour Vacation - 250 per hour Carpenter $5.93 CEMENT MASONS Health & Welfare - 55C per hour Pension Plan - 550 per hr Vacation - 450 per hour Cement Mason Journeyman 5.28 OPERATING ENGINEERS Health & Welfare 300 per hour Pension Plan -60 0 per hour Vacation -30 0 per hour Page 1. RESOLUTION NO. 3004 OVERTIME RATES CARPENTERS - Double time for all overtime. CEMENT MASONS - Time and one half for the first three hours after the regularly constituted straight time shift, and all other overtime shall be double time. OPERATING ENGINEERS - First three hours outside the regularly constituted shift shall be at the rate of time and one half. All additional hours shall be at double time. On Saturday work, the first eleven hours shall be at time and one half and all additional hours at double time. Sundays shall be double time. IRON WORKERS — Double time shall be paid for any and all work in excess of eight hours on any regular work day and for all time worked on Saturdays, Sundays and recognized holidays. LABORERS Time and one half, except Sundays and holidays, which are double time. TEAMSTERS - Time and one half, except Sundays and holidays, which are double time. "The rate of compensation for any classification not listed in the schedule, but which may be required to execute the proposed contract, shall be commensurate and in accord with the rates specified for similar to compar- able duties in the Southern California Master Labor Agreements." The rates per hour, indicated above are based upon the local prevailing rates per day being eight times the above schedule rate per hour. Hourly rates of pay are based upon eight hours per day for a full day or a fractional part of a day. The per diem wages of a fractional part of a day shall be the applicable rate per hour multiplied by the number o f hours worked on said day other than for overtime and/or Sundays or legal holidays.
