A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH STATING THE RESULT OF THE
CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL
BOND ELECTION HELD JUNE 3, 1969
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
by Ordinance No. 1489 , duly called and provided for the
holding of a special election in said city on June 3, 1969 for
the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said city
the proposition set forth in said ordinance and hereinafter
stated; and
Notice of said election was duly and regularly given in
time, form and manner as provided by law, and said election was
held on said date at the polling places designated in Ordinance
No. 1489 , passed and adopted by the City Council on April 7,
1969 , and the votes cast thereat were canvassed and the returns
thereof made by the City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach
at the time and in the manner and form provided by law; and
Said City Council has duly assembled at its usual place
of meeting to receive the certification of the returns of said
election as determined by the City Clerk, conducting said can-
vass for, and by order of the City Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, the .City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby resolve, determine and order as follows :
SECTION 1. That the special election for the purpose of sub-
mitting to the voters of the City of Huntington Beach the bond
proposition hereinafter set forth was duly held on June 3, 1969 ,
and the votes cast at said election were duly and regularly can-
vassed and the returns thereof made at the time and in the form
and manner required by law.

SECTION 2 . That the bond proposition voted upon at said
election is as follows , to wit :
PARK BOND PROPOSITION: Shall the City of Hunt-
ington Beach incur a bonded indebtedness in the
principal amount of $6, 000,000 for the acquisi-
tion and construction by said City of a certain
municipal improvement , to wit : additions to and
development of facilities of the City for com-
munity recreation, including the acquisition and
development of additional parks and the develop-
ment of existing parks by the landscaping and
planting of grounds and the construction of
buildings and recreational facilities, sewer and
drainage facilities and vehicle parking areas
and for any of the foregoing the acquisition of
real property, equipment, furniture, and other
property necessary therefor?
SECTION 3 . That the City Council has received the returns
of said election, as canvassed by the City Clerk at this Coun-
cil ' s direction and on its behalf, and this Council finds that
the total number of votes cast in each of the respective election
precincts , the number of votes therein for and against the Park
Bond Proposition, the total number of absentee votes cast and
the number of votes therein for and against the Park Bond Prop-
osition, and the total number of votes cast in said city for
the Park Bond Proposition are as shown on Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and made a part of this resolution.
SECTION 4 . That the votes of more than two-thirds of the
qualified electors voting on said proposition at said election
were cast in favor of the adoption of said proposition, and
said proposition is hereby declared to be carried, and this City
Council is authorized to issue bonds of said city pursuant
thereto, as provided by law.
SECTION 5 . That the whole number of ballots cast in the
City of Huntington Beach at said special election, including all
absentee ballots was 8, 052 ballots.
SECTION 6 . The City Clerk is hereby directed to enter on
the records of the City Council a statement of the result of

SECTION 7 . That the City Clerk shall attest and certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution by a majority of
the votes of the members of the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, by a vote of more than a majority of all
its members , at an adjourned, regular meeting held on the
10th day of June, 1969 .

STATEMENT OF CITY CLERK
I, Paul C . Jones , the duly elected, qualified and acting City
Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of
the City Council of said city, do hereby certify that I , in
accordance with direction from said City Council set forth in
Resolution No. 2967s did conduct the canvass of the returns of
the Special. Municipal Election held in the City of Huntington
Beach on June 3 , 1969, submitting the following to the qualified
voters of said city:

I further certify that the absentee voters ' ballots have been
duly canvassed and counted, as required by law, and the results
of such count is hereinafter stated ; that I have duly canvassed
the returns of said election and from said returns it appears
that the total number of votes cast in each of the respective
precincts established for said election, upon said Park Bond
Proposition and the total number of absentee votes cast in each
of the respective precincts established for said election upon
said Park Bond Proposition, and the number of votes therein for
said Park Bond Proposition, the total number of absentee votes
cast at said election for said Park Bond Proposition and the
total number of votes cast in said city for said Park Bond Prop-
osition, are as follows , to wit :
