HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3079 RESOLUTION N0 . 3079 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY TREASURER TO DESTROY CERTAIN CITY RECORDS PREPARED IN THE FISCAL YEAR 1963-1964 WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the California Government Code provides for the destruction of non-excepted city records not less than five (5) years old, with the approval of the City Council and with the consent of the City Attorney, by resolu- tion; and The City Treasurer of the City of Huntington Beach has in his custody certain ledgers and registers for such trust accounts and general accounts prepared in the fiscal year 1963-1964, including demands for payment , cancelled checks and bank statements , daily and monthly reports of revenues and dis- bursements of funds in general accounts and trust accounts and cancelled payroll checks, and he has requested a resolution of destruction in connection with such records ; and The City Attorney has given his written consent for the destruction of such records ; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach resolves as follows : The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to prepare in accordance with California Code of Civil Procedures, Sections 1920(b) and 1923, and maintain for the use of the public, a copy or microfilm print of the following records , documents or instruments which, in his opinion, are not of sufficient his- torical, administrative, legal, fiscal, research or other value to justify their retention: 1. All ledgers or registers prepared prior to the fiscal year 1961-62, which he does not desire to or is not authorized by law to destroy without making and maintaining a copy thereof. 1 . 2 . Ledgers of bonds issued pursuant to the Improvement Act of 1911 . 3 . The coupon paid by the City Treasurer on the bonds issued under the Improvement Act of 1911 . 4 . The cancelled bonds issued under the Improvement Act of 1911 . The City treasurer is further directed to promptly seal and store at least one (1) original negative of each micro- film print or copy made pursuant to this resolution, in a safe place .
