HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3092 i �1 RESOLUTION NO. 3092 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF HAMILTON AVENUE. WHEREAS, the city of Huntington Beach desires to improve Hamilton Avenue from Newland Street to Brookhurst Street, and WHEREAS, Hamilton Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County :hterest, and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds ap- portioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City .in the improvement, construction ore repair of a street within a City, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, pro- vide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1970-71 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incor- porated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $166,500 said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Hamilton Avenue from Newland Street to Brookhurst Street, said improvements to be in accordance with the attachedFroject statement; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work on Hamilton Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. Resolution No. 3092 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Huntington Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements will be available for the fiscal year 1970-71.
