A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH DECLARING A MORATORIUM ON THE
ISSUANCE OF BUILDING, PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, SIGN,
GRADING AND OTHER PERMITS ON PROPERTY LOCATED ON
THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF ADAMS AVENUE AND BROOK-
HURST STREET FOR A PERIOD OF 120 DAYS
WHEREAS, on November 17 , 1969, the City Council considered
Code Amendment 69-10 which would have the effect of requiring
use permits in the C-2 and C-3 zones for those uses which now
require a use permit in the C-4 zone, and
The Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach
has adopted a resolution of intent to rezone the real property
at the southeast corner of Adams Avenue and Brookhurst Street
from C-2 to zone C-4; and
That such real property is described as follows :
The north 935 feet of the west 965 feet of the
northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of
Section 8, Township 6 South, Range 10 West,
State of California; and
The Planning Commission has recommended to the City Council
that there be declared a moratorium on the issuance of all build-
ing, plumbing, electrical, sign, grading and other permits on
property located on the southeast corner of Adams Avenue and
Brookhurst Street ; and
The City Council is undertaking the study with the staff
and the Planning Commission to consider possible rezoning of the
property at the southeast corner of Adams Avenue and Brookhurst
Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows :
1. That the hereinbefore described land is hereby desig-
nated as an area for which proceedings have been commenced to

rezone from C-2 to C-4 .
2 . The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
hereby suspends the issuance of all building, plumbing,
electrical, sign, grading and other permits for the above
described real property unless the proposed use complies with
all of the following requirements :
(a) Such use is permitted in the C-2 zone; and
(b) Such use is permitted in the C-4 zone; and
(c ) A use permit is first obtained.
3 . That the public health, safety and welfare require
that such moratorium be issued.
4 . That this moratorium shall last for a period of not
to exceed 120 days from the effective date of this resolution,
or upon the effective date of the zone change ordinance, which-
ever first occurs .
5. Nothing in this resolution shall be construed as a
limitation on the city, county, state, federal government or
any other public agency to enforce any codes , statutes or ordi-
nances applicable to properties within said area designated for
rezoning.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th
day of January, 1970 .
