HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3114 RESOLUTION NO. 3114 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH CENSURING STATE SENATOR JOHN G. SCHMITZ FOR HIS ACTIONS IN CONNECTION WITH THE TOP OF THE PIER DEVELOPMENT PLAN WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach has learned belatedly of the plans of state Senator John B. Schmitz to conduct a hearing, or hearings, on the Top of the Pier Development Plan proposed for the City of Huntington Beach; and The members of the City Council are displeased with and disapprove of the actions of Senator Schmitz in intervening in the dispute between the Council and a group of property owners concerned in the proposed condemnation of downtown property for parking purposes , and in particular, his failure to notify the City Council of said proposed hearing, or hearings , and said Councilmen wish to go on record as to their displeasure and dis- approval of said actions , NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby resolves that state Senator John G. Schmitz is hereby censured by the members of the City Council of Huntington Beach for his intervention in the dispute between the Council and said group of property owners , concerned in the proposed condemnation of downtown property in connection with the Top of the Pier Development Plan, and hereby severely castigate and ex- coriate him, particularly for failure to notify the City Council of a proposed hearing, or hearings, to be held concerning said plan.
