A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH CONGRATULATING HUNTINGTON
BEACH BOYS AND GIRLS FOR ENABLING ORANGE COUNTY
TO CAPTURE THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MUNICIPAL
ATHLETIC FEDERATION TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPION-
SHIPS
WHEREAS, the City Recreation and Parks Department has
established a program of track and field for boys and girls ,
nine through fifteen years of age, and participates in the
Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation Track and
Field Championships ; and
The boys ' meet was held on April 25 , 1970, and the girls '
meet was held on May 9 , 1970 , at Cerritos College; and
Each boy and girl qualified first , second or third in one
or more events in the Huntington Beach Track and Field Cham-
pionships ; and
Each boy and girl placed first through fifth place in one
or more events in the Southern California Municipal Athletic
Federation Track and Field Championships ; and
In so doing, each demonstrated high standards of sports-
manship and fair play; and bestowed honor upon the City of
Huntington Beach and the County of Orange,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach congratulates the boys and girls

who placed first through fifth in one or more events in the
Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation Track and
Field Championships and the leadership of the Huntington Beach
Recreation and Parks Department .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the
18th day of May, 1970 .

resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th
