HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3272 RESOLUTION NO. 3272 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 71-1 WHEREAS , by Resolution No. 3245, a public hearing was called for January 4, 1971 at the hour of 7 : 30 p .m. , or as soon thereafter as the matter could be heard, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, to ascertain whether the public necessity, health, safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the under- ground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or similar or associated service on the east side of Goldenwest Street from Slater Avenue to approximately 205 feet south of Taylor Street; and Notice of such hearing has been given to all affected prop- erty owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned in the manner and for the time required by law; and Such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all persons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby finds and determines that the public necessity, health, safety and welfare require the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated structures, and the underground in- stallation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communi- cation, or similar or associated service on the east side of Golden- west Street from Slater Avenue to approximately 205 feet south of Taylor Street, and such described area is hereby established as Underground Utility District No . 71-1 . RESOLVED, FURTHER, that all poles, overhead wires and asso- ciated overhead structures shall be removed and underground instal- 1 . lations made in said underground utility district within the fol- lowing times : (a) Underground installation by utility companies and prop- erty owners and reconnections not later than January 1, 1972; (b) Removal of poles, overhead wires and other associated overhead structures not later than January 1, 1972 . RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Clerk, within ten (10) days after the adoption of this resolution, shall mail a copy hereof and a copy of Ordinance No. 1429 to affected property owners as such are shown on the last equalized roll and to the affected utilities . PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day of January, 1971 .
