A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING APPROVAL BY
THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY COMMISSION OF THE TEM-
PORARY CROSSING OVER THE ADOPTED ROUTE 1
FREEWAY
WHEREAS , the California Highway Commission on May 22 ,
1963 , passed a resolution declaring that portion of Route 1
in the County of Orange and the cities of Newport Beach and
Huntington Beach between 0 .8 mile south of MacArthur Boule-
vard and 0 .2 mile north of Adams Avenue to be a freeway; and
On April 24 , 1967 , the City of Huntington Beach and the
California State Division of Highways entered into a freeway
agreement , covering Route 1 Freeway between the Huntington
Beach city limits at the Santa Ana River and Quincy Avenue
(Adams Avenue ) ; and
The freeway has not yet been constructed; and
In the interim it is desired to provide a temporary
crossing over the adopted Route 1 Freeway in order that
Magnolia Avenue may be connected to existing Route 1 (Pacific
Coast Highway) ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach requests the California Highway
Commission to approve the temporary crossing over the adopted
Route 1 Freeway until such time as the freeway is constructed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th
day of June , 1971 .

certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th
day of June , 19_ _, by the following vote:
