HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3440 RESOLUTION NO. 3440 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF SHIPLEY STREET WHEREAS , on October 18 , 1971, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach duly adopted Resolution No. 3379 declaring its intention to vacate a portion of Shipley Street located in said city, and referring to a map or plan on file in the office of the City Clerk for particulars as to the proposed vacation; and Said resolution fixed the time and place of November 15 , 1971 at the hour of 7 :30 p.m. , or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Huntington Beach, California for hearing all persons interested in the proposed vacation, which time was not less than fifteen (15) days from the passage of said resolution. Notices of the proposed vacation were posted conspicuously along the portion of Shipley Street proposed to be vacated, and such notices were posted not more than three hundred (300) apart and at least three (3) were posted. On November 15 , 1971 at the hour of 7 :30 p .m. thereof in Council Chambers in City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach did convene for the purpose of hearing all persons interested in or object- ing to the proposed vacation, at which time evidence was pre- sented showing that that portion of Shipley Street proposed to be vacated was no longer necessary for public street purposes , and it was found by the City Council from the evidence sub- mitted that said portion of Shipley Street hereinafter described is not necessary for present or prospective public street pur- poses , 1 . NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does resolve that a certain portion of Shipley Street located in the City of Huntington Beach, be and the same is hereby vacated; said portion of Shipley Street so vacated is described as follows : All that portion of Shipley Street (shown as 16th Street in Book 24 , page 25 of Records of Survey, Orange County, California) being bounded on the north by the southeasterly ex- tension of the southerly right of way line of Adams Avenue (Quincy Street) as it now exists , and being bounded on the south by the northwesterly extension of the northerly right of way of Loma Avenue as it now exists , all in the City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange , State of California. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th day of February, 1972 .
