A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY
DISTRICT NO. 72-4
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 3432, a public hearing was
called for February 22, 1972 at the hour of 7 : 30 p .m. , or as
soon thereafter as the matter could be heard, in Council Cham-
bers of City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, to ascertain
whether the public necessity, health, safety or welfare re-
quires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated
overhead structures and the underground installation of wires
and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or simi-
lar or associated service within the right of way of Goldenwest
Street from McFadden Avenue to one quarter mile south of
McFadden Avenue; and
Notice of such hearing has been given to all affected
property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll
and utilities concerned in the manner and for the time re-
quired by law; and
Such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all
persons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach hereby finds and determines that
the public necessity, health, safety and welfare require the re-
moval of poles, overhead wires and associated structures, and
the underground installation of wires and facilities for sup-
plying electric , communication, or similar or associated serv-
ice within the right of way of Goldenwest Street from McFadden
Avenue to one quarter mile south of McFadden Avenue, and such
described area is hereby established as Underground Utility

District No. 72-4 .
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach finds that such undergrounding will avoid or
eliminate an unusually heavy concentration of overhead distri-
bution facilities .
RESOLVED FURTHER, that all poles , overhead wires and as-
sociated overhead structures shall be removed and underground
installations made in said underground utility district within
the following times :
(a) Underground installation by utility companies and
property owners and reconnections not later than December 31,
1972;
(b ) Removal of poles, overhead wires and other associated
overhead structures not later than December 31, 1972 .
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Clerk, within ten (10)
days after the adoption of this resolution, shall mail a copy
hereof and a copy of Article 975 of the Huntington Beach Ordi-
nance Code to affected property owners as such are shown on the
last equalized roll and to the affected utilities .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 22nd
day of February, 1972 .

acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 22nd
day of February 19 72 , by the following vote:
