HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3465 R ADOPTED AND RESCINDED BY 14INUTE ACTION 4/3/72 RESOLUTION NO. 3465 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS MEM- BERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY CHARTER WHEREAS, a special municipal election is to be held in the City of Huntington Beach on June 6 , 1972 at which there will be submitted to the qualified electors of said city the following amendment to the city Charter : t 1 1 T 'Shall the Charter be amended to 'provide for compensation of City ' ' ' 'Councilmen, City Clerk and City ' YES ' ' 'Treasurer, as provided for gen- v r 'eral law cities by the Cali- ' ' ' ' fornia Government Code? ' NO ' ' I , r T NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach , California does hereby resolve , determine and order as follows : SECTION 1 . That this City Council, being the legislative body of the City of Huntington Beach, hereby authorizes Councilmen Bartlett, Green, Matney, McCracken and Councilwoman Gibbs members of said body, to file a written argument for or against the proposed amendment to the city Charter, set forth in the re- citals hereof in accordance with Article 4 , Chapter 3 , Division 4 of the Elections Code of the State of California, and to change said argument until and including the date fixed by the City Clerk after which no arguments for or against said proposed 1 . e� F amendment to the city Charter may be submitted to him. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of April, 1972 .
