A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH OF INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION
OF ELLIS AVENUE
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does
hereby resolve as follows :
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Division 9 , Part 3 , Chapter 2 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California
(Sections 8320 et seq. ) , the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach hereby declares its intention to vacate a
portion of Ellis Avenue, located in proposed Tract 7601, in
the City of Huntington Beach, described as follows :
A portion of that certain 40 .00 foot strip of
land in the City of Huntington Beach, County of
Orange , State of California, known as Ellis Avenue
and as shown on map of Tract No . 7 recorded in Book
9 , page 8 of Miscellaneous Maps , records of said
County , described as follows :
Beginning at the intersection of the north line
of said 40 . 00 foot strip with the centerline of
Huntington Street as shown on map of Tract No . 3563
recorded in Book 131, pages 7 to 12 inclusive, of
Miscellaneous Maps ; thence west along said north line
i67 . 99 feet to THE TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING, said
point being on a curve concave southerly and having
a radius of 1042 . 00 feet, a radial line through said
point bears north ll"47140" west; thence westerly
along said curve 139 . 01 feet and through a central
angle of 7°38 ' 38" to the beginning of a tangent
reversing curve concave northerly and having a radius
of 958 . 00 feet ; thence westerly along said reversing
curve 7. 92 feet to a point in the southerly line of
the aforesaid 40 . 00 foot strip of land; thence west
along said southerly line 305 . 42 feet to a point in
the westerly line of the land described in deed to
the Huntington Beach Company recorded in Book 1134 ,
page 154 of Official Records , records of said County;
thence north 0°02102" west along said line 20 . 00 feet
to a point in the centerline of said Ellis Avenue and
40 . 00 foot strip of land; thence west along said
centerline 25. 00 feet to a point in the east right of
way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Right of
Way; thence north 000 ' 54" east along said right of

way line 20 . 00 feet to a point in the north line
of said 40 . 00 foot strip of land; thence east along
said north line 471 . 67 feet to the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING.
SECTION 2 . The City Clerk is directed to maintain on
file in the office of the City Clerk maps or plans showing the
particulars of the proposed vacation of a portion of Warner
Avenue, as hereinabove set forth and reference is hereby made
to said maps or plans for said particulars as to said proposed
vacation.
SECTION 3 . The City Council does hereby fix September 18,
1972 at the hour of 7 : 00 p .m. , or as soon thereafter as the
matter may be heard in Council Chambers in City Hall, Huntington
Beach, as the time and place for hearing all persons interested
in or objecting to the proposed vacation, which time is not less
than fifteen (15) days from the passage of this resolution.
SECTION 4 . The City Clerk is directed to cause a copy of
this resolution to be published in the Huntington Beach News ,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in
the City of Huntington Beach within fifteen (15) days of the
passage of this resolution .
SECTION 5 . The Street Superintendent is directed to post,
or cause to be posted, notices of street vacation conspiciously
along that portion of Ellis Avenue proposed to be vacated at
least ten (10 ) days before the date of hearing. Such notices
shall be posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart , but
at least three (3) shall be posted. Such notices shall state
the passage of this resolution of intention and the time and
place of the hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st
day of August , 1972 .

I , PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected , qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st
day of August 191 by the following vote :
