A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH OPPOSING STATE REGULATION OF
THE CABLE TELEVISION INDUSTRY
WHEREAS , Senate Bill 1613 and Senate Bill 663 have been
referred to the Senate Committee on Public Utilities and
Corporations for interim study, and
WHEREAS , both measures provide for State regulation of
the cable television industry, and
.WHEREAS , the Federal Communications Commission has already
established regulations covering the cable television industry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach that legislation providing for State
regulation of the cable television industry is hereby opposed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this City Council opposes such
regulation on the basis of conflict with Federal Communications
Commission regulation and directs the City Clerk to send a copy
of this resolution to the California State Senate Committee on
Public Utilities and Corporations .
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 18th day of September, 1972 .

acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th
day of September 19 72 , by the following vote:
