The Planning Commission has determined that the Metropolitan Water District has not submitted, as requested, an environmental impact statement report on the desalting plant impact area. 2 . The Metropolitan Water District did not consider alternate sites for the switchyard. 3. The Metropolitan Water District Report (No . 899) entitled, "Acquisition of Right of Way for Utility Corridor and Switchyard Bolsa Bay and Huntington Beach Orange County, California Environmental Impact Report" did misquote the November 1965 Report by Henry H. Neel. 4 . It appears that the prime reason for Report No . 899 is to justify the location of the tideland' s grant . 5 . Report No . 899 minimizes the environmental and topo- graphic disruptive impact on the Bolsa Chica flats . 1 . WM: lm 6 . The Planning Commission has determined that imple- mentation of said report would have an adverse impact on the Master Plan of Land-Use for the City of Huntington Beach . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that , for the reasons above stated, said City Council does request the California State Legislature to revoke the tidelands grant to the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the appropriate local legislators .
