HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3586 RESOLUTION NO. 3586 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION OF A POR- TION OF THE RIGHT OF WAY OF SANTA BARBARA LANE AND SAYBROOK LANE WHEREAS, on September 18, 1972, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach duly adopted Resolution No . 3564 de- claring its intention to vacate a portion of the right of way of Santa Barbara Lane and Saybrook Lane, which portion is two parcels of land adjacent to Lots 10 and 11 of Tract 6808 in the City of Huntington Beach, and referring to a map or plan on file in the office of the City Clerk for particulars as to the proposed vacation; and Said resolution fixed the time and place of Monday, October 16, 1972 at the hour of 7 : 00 p .m. , or as soon there- after as the matter may be heard, in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Huntington Beach, California for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation, which time was not less than fifteen (15) days from the passage of said resolution. Notices of the proposed vacation were posted con- spicuously along that portion of Santa Barbara Lane and Say- brook Lane proposed to be vacated, and such notices were posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart and at least three (3) were posted. On October 16, 1972 at the hour of 7 : 00 p .m. thereof in Council Chambers in City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach did convene for the purpose of hearing all persons interested in or object- ing to the proposed vacation of a portion of the right of way of Santa Barbara Lane and Saybrook Lane, at which time no objec- tion was made to said vacation, and evidence was presented 1. ahb showing that the portion of the right of way of Santa Barbara Lane and Saybrook Lane proposed to be vacated is not necessary for present or prospective public street purposes, and is not suit- able for use or development as bicycle paths or routes, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, pursuant to Part 3, Division 9 of the California Streets and Highways Code (Sections 8300 et seq. ) , does resolve that that portion of the right of way of Santa Barbara Lane and Saybrook Lane located adjacent to Lots 10 and 11 of Tract 6808 is not necessary for present or prospective public street pur- poses , and is not suitable for use or development as bicycle paths or routes , and it is hereby ORDERED that the following described portion of right of way of Santa Barbara Lane and Saybrook Lane be and the same is hereby vacated; said portion of the right of way so vacated is described as follows : A portion of the right of way of Santa Barbara Lane and Saybrook Lane as shown on a map of Tract 6808 recorded in Book 295, Pages 39 to 42 of Miscellaneous Maps , Records of Orange County, California, said por- tion consisting of two parcels described as follows : PARCEL 1 Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Lot 11 as shown on said tract map; thence along the easterly lot line of said Lot 11 North 0040 ' 57" West 65. 43 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing North 0040 ' 57" West 28. 66 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the west having a radius of 33 . 00 feet ; thence northerly along said curve through a central angle of 20024 , 49" a distance of 11 . 76 feet more or less to a point on the northeasterly extension of the common lot line between Lot 10 and 11; thence along said extension South 56015125" West 8 .93 feet more or less to the most northerly corner of Lot 11, said corner being a point in a nontangent curve con- cave to the southwest having a radius of 70 . 00 feet , a radial line from said point bearing North 59'01' 57" East ; thence southeasterly along said curve and lot line through a central angle of 30°17 ' 06" a distance of 37 . 00 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING. 2 . PARCEL 2 Beginning at the most northerly corner of Lot 10 as shown on said tract map; thence along the north- erly lot line of said Lot 10 South 76012 ' 17" East 39 . 11 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing South 76012 ' 17" East 28. 66 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the south- west having a radius of 33 . 00 feet; thence south- easterly along said curve through a central angle at 55°06 ' 31" a distance of 31 . 74 feet more or less to a point on the northeasterly extension of the common lot line between Lots 10 and 11; thence along said extension South 56°15125" West 8 .93 feet more or less to the most easterly corner of Lot 10, said corner being a point in a nontangent curve concave to the southwest having a radius of 70 .00 feet, a radial line from said point bearing North 59'01 ' S7" East; thence northwesterly along said curve and lot line through a central angle of 45014 , 14" a distance of 55 .27 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 16th day of October, 1972 .
