HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3611 RESOLUTION NO. 3611 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING EMERGENCY EXPENDITURES FOR MATERIALS, SUPPLIES, LABOR AND EQUIPMENT WITHOUT THE NECESSITY OF ADVER- TISING FOR BIDS (EDISON PARK CONCRETE DRAIN) WHEREAS, Edison Park (located at the northwest corner of Magnolia Street and Hamilton Avenue) is now in design for construction, and existing grading . permits storm water to enter private properties to the west; and WHEREAS, Section 1211 of the City Charter of the city of Huntington Beach provides that the City Council may authorize that materials and supplies be purchased and contracts let without advertising for bids if such work or the purchase of such materials and supplies shall be deemed by the City Council to be necessary for the preservation of life, health or property, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Huntington Beach does find thb.t the construction of a concrete drain facility is of urgent necessity for the preservation of life, health or property, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the city of Huntington Beach that the Department of Public Works be and it is hereby authorized to construct the facility that such contracts as are necessary may be let and that materials and supplies as are necessary may be purchased without further observance of the provisions of Section 1211 of the City Charter of the city of Huntington Beach relating to purchases and that such contracts may be let and such purchases may be made without advertising for bids.
