HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3612 RESOLUTION NO. 3612 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR INSTALLATION OF RAILROAD PROTECTIVE DEVICES ALONG THE NAVY-OWNED SPUR WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach has informally agreed to contribute a fair share of the cost of installing railroad protective devices along the Navy-owned railroad spur intersecting Edwards Street, Springdale Street , and Rancho Avenue; and It is essential in order to award the installation con- tract prior to the end of the calendar year, and in accordance with letter, dated November 22, 1972 , from Commanding Officer, Department of the Navy, Naval Weapons Station, Seal Beach, Cali- fornia, that city make such contribution prior to December 7 , 1972; and Based on present cost estimate, the city 's prorata share for installing such railroad protective devices is Fifteen Thou- sand Two Hundred Twenty-eight and no/100ths Dollars ($15,228 . 00) ; and Such money is available from the Gas Tax Fund to which the City of Huntington Beach is entitled, and such expenditure has been recommended by the Director of Finance and City Administra- tor, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that an expenditure from the Gas Tax Fund in the sum of Fifteen Thousand Two Hundred Twenty-eight and no/100th Dollars ($15,228. 00) , payable to the Naval Weapons Sta- tion is hereby authorized to be made as city 's estimated prorata share of the cost of installation of said railroad protective devices along the Navy-owned railroad spur which intersects 1. Res. No. 3612 STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) COUNTY OF ORANGE ) ss : CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ) I , PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex- officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven; that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day of December 19 72 , by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen: Shipley, Bartlett, Gibbs, Green, Matney, Duke, Coen NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT: Councilmen: None PAUL C.
