HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3724 RESOLUTION NO. 3724 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT, AGREEING TO PAY CERTAIN SUM OF MONEY AS CITY 'S SHARE IN COUNTY-WIDE PROJECT FOR THE CONTROL OF DANGEROUS DRUGS WHEREAS , the City of Santa Ana is sponsoring a project in which other cities in Orange County are participating to form a narcotics task force; and In order to provide essential timely, expeditious and continually available support to task force members and coordinate with other law enforcement agencies in narcotic- oriented intelligence collection, analyzation and distribu- tion, a coordinator' s office is needed; and Federal funds are necessary in order to establish such coordinator' s office; and The City of Santa Ana has made application for such federal funds ; and It is necessary that participating cities contribute matching funds to make such program effective , NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does resolve as follows : That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute contract agreeing to deposit with the City of Santa Ana its pro rata share of the Narcotics Task Force Hard Cash Matching Funds in the sum of $1,650 .00, which sum will be immediately returned to this city in the event grant of federal funds is not made .
