A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING
THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE TO CONSOLIDATE A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO
BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 6, 1973 WITH THE SPECIAL
STATEWIDE ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE,
PURSUANT TO SECTION 23302 OF THE ELECTIONS
CODE
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
has called a special municipal election in the City of Huntington
Beach to be held on November 6, 1973 , for the purpose of sub-
mitting to the qualified voters of the City of Huntington Beach
amendments to the city Charter pertaining to appointment of the
City Attorney , City Clerk and City Treasurer, as hereinafter
set forth; and
It is desirable that said special municipal election be
consolidated with the special statewide election to be held on
the same date and that within the City of Huntington Beach the
precincts , polling places and election officers of the two elec-
tions be the same , and that the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Orange canvass the returns of the special municipal
election and that said special statewide election and special
municipal election be held in all respects as if there were
only one election;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby resolve , determine and order as follows :
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of Section
23302 of the Elections Code , the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Orange be and it hereby is requested to consent and
agree to the consolidation of a special municipal election with

the special statewide election on Tuesday, the 6th day of
November, 1973, for the purpose of submitting to the electors
of the City of Huntington Beach amendments to the city Charter
pertaining to appointment of the City Attorney, City Clerk and
City Treasurer to appear on the ballot as follows :

SECTION 2 . Said Board of Supervisors is hereby author-
ized to canvass the returns of said special municipal election
which it is hereby requested to consolidate with said special
statewide election and said election shall be held in all re-
spects as if there were only one election, and only one form of
ballot shall be used.
SECTION 3. Said Board of Supervisors is hereby requested
to issue instructions to the County Clerk to take any and all
steps necessary for the holding of said consolidated election.
SECTION 4 . The City of Huntington Beach recognizes that
additional costs will be incurred by the County by reason of
this consolidation and agrees to reimburse the County for any
such costs .
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk of the City of Huntington
Beach is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this
resolution with the County Clerk of the County of Orange .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th
day of August , 1973 •

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day
of August , 19 73 by the following vote:
