A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT
WITH STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR IMPROVEMENT OF
BEACH BOULEVARD BETWEEN PACIFIC COAST HIGH-
WAY AND ADAMS AVENUE
WHEREAS, that section of Beach Boulevard between Pacific
Coast Highway and Adams Avenue is the only remaining portion
of Beach Boulevard between Pacific Coast Highway and the
Santa Ana Freeway which does not provide six traffic lanes;
and
Beach Boulevard (State Highway 39) is a major north-south
thoroughfare, requiring six traffic lanes to move traffic ade-
quately; and
City proposes to widen Beach Boulevard, modify traffic
signals and lighting, and provide median landscaping between
Pacific Coast Highway and Adams Avenue as a Federal Aid Urban
Project; and
The State of California, as well as city, will benefit
from such highway improvement project, and has indicated' its
willingness to participate financially,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach that it does authorize the Mayor
and Clerk to execute that certain contract designated as
"District Agreement No. 3072, " with the State of California
for its cooperation and participation in city' s Federal Aid
Urban Project to widen Beach Boulevard to six traffic lanes
from Pacific Coast Highway to Adams Avenue.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day
of November , 19 73 , by the following vote:
