A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY
FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF MANSION
AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to improve
Mansion Avenue from Main Street to Yorktown Avenue; and
Mansion Avenue is an important artery in the County of
Orange and of general county interest ; and
Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the
Streets and Highways Code authorizes a county, if it so de-
sires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any city in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a city; and
The Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action,
provide in the county budget of the Special Road Improvement
Fund for the fiscal year 1974-75 a sum of money for the improve-
ment of streets within the incorporated cities of the county
in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financ-
ing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange to allocate to said city from county funds
the amount of $89, 000, said amount to be matched by funds from
said city, to be used to aid said city in the improvement of
nnansion Avenue from Main Street to Yorktown Avenue, and for
the acquisition of necessary rights of way; said improvements
and acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance with the
attached project statement .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of

the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said
work and acquisition of rights of way on Mansion Avenue, in
the manner provided, is in the general county interest .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this resolution, the
City of Huntington Beach agrees with the basic concepts of
the Arterial Highway Financing Program, and further agrees
that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way
will be available for the fiscal year 1974-75•
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the
17th day of December, 1973 .
