HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3835 RESOLUTION NO. 3835 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH URGING ADOPTION OF ORANGE COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT BUS ROUTES IN, SAID CITY WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach recognizes the need for an expanded public transportation serv- ice within the boundaries of the city of Huntington Beach; and The Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach, by its Resolution No . 1134, adopted January 15, 1974, has made recommendations for the development of certain bus routes in Huntington Beach; and The City Council concurs in the recommendation of the Planning Commission, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that it recommends and urges the adoption of the following bus routes in the city of Huntington Beach: 1 . That Line 37 be routed through the city of Huntington Beach in an east/west direction along Warner Avenue from Fountain Valley to Pacific Coast Highway. 2 . That Line 29 be routed down Lake Street rather than Main Street . 3 . That the Orange County Transit District incorporate a new route, designated "Alpha route," as shown on the attached illustration of proposed bus routes within the city. 4 . That Orange County Transit District develop a transit terminal in the area north of Huntington Center and south of the San Diego Freeway which may serve as an interconnecting point for both Orange County Transit District scheduled service and 1 . /ahb future commuter service to the industrial areas of Orange County, and the cities of Long Beach and Los Angeles .
