HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3877 RESOLUTION NO. 3877 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REGARDING DISPLAY OF THE CITY FLAG AT HALF--STAFF UPON THE DEATH OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS OR EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the flag of the City of Huntington Beach be flown at half-staff on city grounds, and facilities , upon the death of certain city officials and employees as a mark of respect to their memory; and It is recognized that occasions arise for flying the City flag at half-staff at a time the City Council is not in session, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: 1. That the City Administrator at his discretion is hereby authorized to direct that the City flag be flown at half-mast upon the death of certain City officials and employees. 2. That the flag of the City of Huntington Beach shall be flown at half-mast on such occasions on the day of death and on the following day, or for a period of time designated by the City Administrator. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of May, 1974.
