RESOLUTION DETERMINING GENERAL NATURE OF WORK
AND ORDERING INVESTIGATION REPORT
SUNSET HEIGHTS ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 7201
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, State of California, in regular session assembled,
that certain acquisition of permanent easements and improvements are
proposed to be done and made within the boundaries of the proposed
assessment district No. 7201 , as hereinafter described within said
City of Huntington Beach. In connection therewith said City
Council hereby finds and determines as follows, to wit:
1 . The nature of the proposed acquisition and improve-
ment, consisting of the following described acquisition and work,
upon the grades , along the lines, between the points , of the
dimensions , at the places, in the manner, and of the materials shown
on the plans , profiles and detailed drawings for said improvement,
and in accordance with the specifications for said improvement
heretofore approved and adopted by said City Council and on file in
the office of the City Clerk, to which plans , profiles, detailed draw-
ings and specifications reference is hereby made for a further and more
particular description of said work, the manner of its execution and
the material to be used therein, is described as follows :

The acquisition of the following described permanent
public street easements in said City of Huntington Beach, said
easements being necessary and convenient in connection with the
construction and installation of the street improvements
hereinafter described ; all in the County of Orange :
1 . That portion of Lot 4 , Block 14, Tract No . 86 as per map
recorded in Book 10, in the office of the Recorder of said
County, described as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of said Lot 4 ; thence
North 89' 39' 30" east along the north line of said Lot 4,
20.86 feet to a point on a non-tangent curve concave to
the northwest having a radius of 47 .00 feet , a radial line
to said point bears South 61" 02 ' 35" east ; thence
southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of
35" 11' 31" an arc distance 28 .87 feet to a non-tangent
line , said line being the west line of said Lot 4; thence
North 00' 40' 00" west along said west line 19 .42 feet
to the point of beginning.
2 . That portion of Lot 2 , Block 14, Tract No . 86 as per map
recorded in Book 10, Pages 35 and 36 . of Miscellaneous Maps
in the office of the Recorder of said County, described
as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of said Lot 2 , thence
North 00" 40' 00" west along the west line of said Lot 2 ,
132 .00 feet ; thence North 89' 39' 30" east 27 .00 feet to
a line parallel with and 27 .00 feet easterly, measured at
right angles from said west line ; thence South 00° 40' 00"
east along said line 108 .74 feet to a curve concave to the
northwest having a radius of 47 .00 feet ; thence southwesterly
along said curve thru a central angle of 29" 37 ' 25" an arc
distance 24.30 feet to a non-tangent line , said line being
the south line of said Lot 2 ; thence South 89" 39' 30" west
along said line 20.86 feet to the point of beginning .
3 . The west 27 .00 feet of the North 66 .00 feet of the south
198.00 feet of Lot 2 of Block 14 of Tract No . 86 (Coast
Boulevard Farms) as shown on a map recorded in Book 10,
Pages 35 and 36 of Miscellaneous Maps , Records of Orange
County, California .
4. That portion of Lot 1 of Block "E" of Tract No . 349 as
shown on a map recorded in Book 15 , Page 17 of Miscellaneous
Maps , Records of Orange County, California , described as
follows:

Beginning at the southwest corner of said Lot 1 ; thence
along the west line of said Lot 1 north 00" 40' 00" west
22 .86 feet ; thence North 89' 20' 00" east 2 .00 feet to a
point on a non-tangent curve concave to the northeast
having a radius of 23 .00 feet , a radial line thru said
point bears South 89' 20' 00" west ; thence southeasterly
along said curve thru a central angle of 89' 40' 30" an
arc distance 36 .00 feet to a point of cusp with the south
line of said Lot 1 ; thence along said south line South 89°
39' 30" west 24.87 feet to the point of beginning.
5 . That portion of Lot 2 of Block "C" of Tract No . 349 as
shown on a map recorded in Book 15 , Page 17 of
Miscellaneous Maps , Records of Orange County, California ,
described as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of said Lot 2 ; thence along
the east line of said Lot 2 north 00' 40' 00" west 23 .14 feet ;
thence South 89' 20' 00" West 2 .00 feet to a point on a
non-tangent curve concave to the northwest having a radius
of 23 .00 feet, a radial line thru said point bears North
89" 20' 00" East ; thence southwesterly along said curve
thru a central angle of 90' 19' 30" an arc distance
36 .26 feet to a point of cusp with the south line of said
Lot 2 ; thence along said south line North 89" 39' 30" east
25 .13 feet to the point of beginning.
6 . That portion of Lot 2 of Block "D" of Tract No . 349 as shown
on a map recorded in Book 15 , Page 17 of Miscellaneous Maps ,
Records of Orange County, California , described as follows :
Beginning at the southeast corner of said Lot 2 ; thence along
the east line of said Lot 2 North 001 40' 00" West 23 .14 feet ;
thence South 89' 20' 00" west 2 .00 feet to a point on a
non-tangent curve concave to the northwest having a radius
of 23 .00 feet, a radial line thru said point bears
North 89° 20' 00" east ; thence southwesterly along said
curve thru a central angle of 90' 19' 30" an arc distance
36 .26 feet to a point of cusp with the south line of said
Lot 2 ; thence along said south line North 89' 39' 30" east
25 .13 feet to the point of beginning .
7 . That portion of Lot 1 of Block "G" of Tract 349 as shown on
a map recorded in Book 15 , Page 17 of Miscellaneous Maps ,
Records of Orange County, California , described as follows :
Beginning at the southwest corner of said Lot 1 ; thence along
the west line of said Lot 1 north 00' 40' 00" west 22 .86 feet ;
thence north 89° 20' 00" east 2 .00 feet to a point on a
non-tangent curve concave to the northeast having a radius
of 23 .00 feet , a radial line through said point bears
south 89" 20' 00" west ; thence southeasterly along said
curve through a central angle of 89" 40' 30 ' an arc distance
36 .00 feet to a point of cusp with the south line of said lot 1 ;
thence along said south line south 89' 39' 30" west 24.87 feet
to the point of beginning.

8 . That portion of Lot 1 of Block "D" of Tract No . 349 as
shown on a map recorded in Book 15 , Page 17 of Miscellaneous
Maps , Records of Orange County, California , described as
follows :
Beginning at the southwest corner of said Lot 1 ; thence along
the west line of said Lot 1 North 00' 40' 00" West 22 .86 feet ;
thence North 89' 20' 00" East 2 .00 feet to a point on a
non-tangent curve concave to the northeast having a radius
of 23 .00 feet , a radial line thru said point bears South
89" 20' 00" west ; thence southeasterly along said curve
thru a central angle of 89" 40' 30" an arc distance
36 .00 feet to a point of cusp with the south line of said
Lot 1 ; thence along said south line South 89" 39' 30" West
24.87 feet to the point of beginning .
9. Said proposed work and improvement is described as follows :
The construction and installation of concrete curbs , gutters ,
cross gutters , sidewalks , driveways and driveway approaches ,
asphalt concrete street pavement over aggregate base material ,
asphalt concrete berm, ornamental electric street lights with
underground wiring and trenching therefore , drainage structures
for drainage purposes , reinforced concrete pipe , street signs,
the adjustment of manholes and domestic water valve boxes
to grade , grading, the removal of all obstacles in the line
of work, clearing, grubbing, and excavation, all together
with appurtenances and appurtenant work in and along the
following streets in said City of Huntington Beach:
Pearce Street from its intersection with Algonquin
Street to its intersection with Bolsa Chica Street .
Prarie Street between its intersection with Dolores
Street and its intersection with Lynn Street .
Warner Avenue between its intersection with Sims
Street and its intersection with Green Street .
Milo Street between its intersection with Sims
Street and its intersection with Blanton Street and

between its intersection with Lynn Street and its
intersection with Green Street .
Dolores Street between its intersection with
Prarie Street and its intersection with Pearce Street .
Sims Street between its intersection with Prarie
Street and its intersection with Warner Avenue .
Blanton Street between its intersection with
Prarie Street and its intersection with Milo Street .
Lynn Street between its intersection with
Prarie Street and its intersection with Warner Avenue .
Green Street between its intersection with
Warner Avenue and its intersection with Pearce Street .
The description of said work and improvement ,
including the description of the location and terminus
thereof, as hereinbefore set forth , is general in nature .
All items of work do not necessarily extend for either
the full length of the description thereof or the full
width of the designated streets and may extend into the
named intersections .
The permanent public street easements to be acquired
as aforesaid shall become a portion of the public street
to which each is now adjacent and each is included as a
part of that street in the description of the work and
improvement hereinbefore set forth .
The plans , specifications and detailed drawings on
file in the office of the City Clerk and the Director of
Public Works and adopted by said City Council by its

Resolution No . 3902 on July 1 , 1974, shall govern
as to the correct and detailed description and location of
said work and improvements . Reference is hereby made to
said plans , specifications and detailed drawings for
further information.
Said City Council has , by its Resolution No . 3901
adopted July 1 , 1974, entered into an agreement with
Southern California Edison Company for the installation by
Southern California Edison Company of eighty-five marbelite
electroliers in open trenches with underground wiring in
this assessment district at a cost of $17 ,116 .00 with the
provision that the agreement shall become effective upon
the effective date of the resolution of said City Council
ordering the work to be done pursuant to the provisions
of the Improvement Act of 1911 , Division 7 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California , and providing
that after the confirmation of the assessment in this
assessment district , said Southern California Edison Company
shall have exclusive possession, control and use of said
underground ornamental electric lighting system as long as
said public utility uses said system to render electric
street lighting to the lands within this assessment district .
l0. Said acquisition of permanent public street easements shall
also include :
That portion of Lot i of Block "C" of Tract No. 349 as
shown on a map recorded in Book 15 , Page 17 of Miscellaneous
Maps records of Orange County , California , described as
follows :

Beginning at the southwest corner of said Lot 1 ; thence along
the west line of said Lot 1 North 000 40 ' 00" West 22.86
feet; thence North 890 20 ' 00" East 2 .00 feet to a point
on a non-tangent curve concave to the northeast having a
radius of 23.00 feet , a radial line thru said point bears
South 890 20 ' 00" west ; thence southeasterly along said
curve thru a central angle of 890 40 ' 30" an arc distance
36 .00 feet to a point of cusp with the south line of said
Lot 1 ; thence along said south line South 890 39 ' 30" West
24 . 87 .feet to the point of beginning .

2 . The location and extent of said proposed improvement
will involve the construction of the above described improvements
in the streets and rights of way hereinbefore set forth.
3. The boundaries of the district to be specially
assessed to pay any part of the cost of the proposed acquisition and
improvement are as shown upon a map or plat now on file in the office
of the City Clerk, which said map or plat indicates by a boundary line
the territory to be included in the proposed assessment district
and which said map or plat governs for all details as to the extent
of said proposed district. Said map or plat is designated "PROPOSED
BOUNDARIES OF SUNSET HEIGHTS ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 7201, CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH, COUNTY OF ORANGE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA. "
4 . The statute or law under which it is proposed to
conduct proceedings for said improvement is the Improvement Act of
1911 of the State of talifornia, Division 7 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, with improvement bonds to
be issued pursuant to the provisions of said Improvement Act of 1911.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Engineer of Work be and he
is hereby directed to prepare a written report containing all of the
information required by Section 2825 Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California upon the proposed improvement, and to
employ such clerical assistance as shall be necessary therefor.
