HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 3935 RESOLUTION NO . 3935 A RESOLUTION CF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING GENERAL PLAN ELEMENT TIME EXTENSIONS WHEREAS, Government Code Section 65302 .5 requires the city to adopt a seismic safety, noise , scenic highway and safety element to its General Plan not later than September 20, 1974; and The Council on Intergovernmental Relations , pursuant to Government Code Section 65302.5, is charged with the responsi- bility of providing criteria for preparation of these elements , and is further provided the authority to grant an extension in cases of extreme hardship; and The City of Huntington Beach is experiencing extreme hard- ship in completing and adopting the required elements by the September 20th deadline for the following reasons : (a) Review procedures under the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code require extended public review process which would cause the proposed policy to be considered by the City Council after the September_ 20th deadline. (b) Preparation of the required elements are being accomplished and completed within a comprehensive General Plan revision program involving a systematic evaluation of the interrelated aspects of the various elements and which will ultimately result in an integrated General Plan document . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby request from the Council on Intergovernmental Relations the following time ex- tensions for the enumerated elements required in the General Plan. Seismic Safety and Safety Elements - October 21, 1974 Noise and Scenic Highways Elements - March 20, 1975 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of JOC :er 1.
